Below are several images showing CT05#1 in the rebuild stages
The rebuild from basic tub to show car took just under one year. The car went to Sweet Fabrications in late 2015 and arrived back with me as a matt black rolling chassis in July 2016.
Tom Sweet from Sweet Fabrications carried out the front and rear suspension work.
Ben and Pasty from Computech carried out the bodywork repairs
Wrapping of the vehicle back to Hexis Boston Green was carried out by Leeds Vehicle Wrapping

Caterham CT05#1 is the last remaining Caterham F1 car to remain in the UK
During the auction the initial Chassis were sold and a large amount of spare parts were sold in various lots. As I hadn't bought CT05#1 at that point I did not purchase any of the appropriate parts needed to complete the project. In purchasing Chassis#1 at one of the last auctions it made my job harder as I was then left with broken parts and odd parts needed. Whilst this has made my work harder it has been more rewarding having been a part in the restoration of such a great vehicle
Chassis #1 was described as "Chassis unknown" in the auction as its chassis plate had been removed. It now looks like the Chassis plate for Chassis#4 is actually Chassis#1 plate but it has been altered to create a badly made Chassis#4 plate. I have had a replacement plate made that is identical to Chassis#1's which will sit in the car once the project is completed..

Design of the front suspension
During 2015 I started speaking to Andrew who worked for As Pro Engineering. Andrew was keen to be involved with the project and has since been working on designs to adjust the original front suspension so I can run CT05#1 without the need to pre-heat the brakes, and hubs. The car will run on a basic design Formula Renault upright so that future spare parts can be obtained at a reasonable price.
Design of the engine mount and rebuild
The engine needed to be mounted to the back of the monocoque in a bespoke way so that over time the two were not separating due to the forces of nature splitting the car in half. Andrew designed an upper and lower engine mount that has fitted onto the 2ltr Formula Renault engine perfectly.
